Our Chirp For A Cause Spring Nominees

We are excited to announce the next trifecta of organizations that our clients will be voting for as part of our Chirp For A Cause program. Every year, we vet nonprofits who are doing important work in our community and select a few to consider donating to. Our clients cast votes and the cause with the most votes receives a donation from our team.

While there is only one donation recipient, we hope to bring awareness to all of these important issues and the great work these organizations are doing.

Our current nominees are:

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) has a heartfelt devotion for a topic that is difficult to think about, but that greatly impacts the communities and lives around us. The AFPS’s mission is to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. Sadly, the statistics show that suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. The AFSP strives to change these statistics by creating a culture that is smart about mental health, funding scientific research, educating the public about mental health and suicide prevention, advocating for public policies in mental health and suicide prevention, and supporting survivors of suicide loss and those affected by suicide. Their current mission is Project 2025, a nationwide initiative to reduce the annual rate of suicide in the U.S. by 20% by the year 2025. Suicide is devastating for the lives lost as well as those left to grieve, and here at Chirp, we wholeheartedly support the efforts to reduce these statistics.

News that your child has a life-threatening illness is one of the most difficult and unimaginable things a family can face. Each year, 27,000 children in the United States are diagnosed with a critical illness. In the midst of such turmoil, it’s wonderful to hear about an organization that helps to give kids and their families a reprieve from the hardships of battling a disease. Give Kids The World Village is an 84-acre, nonprofit “storybook” resort in Central Florida that partners with a wish-granting organization to provide children with critical illnesses and their families with a weeklong, free vacation. A trip to Give Kids The World Village gives families time together, inspiring a renewed sense of hope and happiness that lasts long after they return home. The goal, quite simply, is to provide everything these deserving families need to make their trip the vacation of a lifetime. Since 1986, more than 167,000 children and families have had their dreams fulfilled in a whimsical Village unlike any other place on earth.  Now that’s something to ‘Chirp’ about!

Compassion International is a faith-based child-advocacy ministry pairing compassionate people with children living in extreme poverty to release the children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty. Compassion International focuses on a long-term approach that extends well beyond providing food for a child. Through their holistic child development model, they blend physical, social, economic, and spiritual care together to help children in poverty fully mature in every facet of life and transcend what is often a generational legacy of poverty.  In a world where hundreds of millions of children live in extreme poverty, Compassion International puts donations to work by connecting children with sponsors, providing urgent infant care and support for mothers, customizing education and training for children 12 and older, and assisting with medical care, food, emergency care, disaster relief, and access to clean safe water. Often the fight against hunger can seem overwhelming and unapproachable, so we are thankful for organizations like Compassion International that invite us to be a part of the cure!

The voting has begun and we’ll be announcing the lucky winner in the next few weeks. Check back soon to see which of these worthy organizations our clients selected.
