Women are smashing the glass ceiling – one hustle at a time. In this part of our ongoing Side Hustle Series, we explore the impact of women on the side hustle landscape, their preferred gigs, and their motivations for hustling.

Chirp found that women are more likely than men to have a side gig (45% vs. 13%). Women are more likely to run an online store or blog, and they are also the driving force in direct sales – 92% of those involved are women.

Our most striking finding? Women are working more jobs than men (1.5 vs. 1.2) and are making, on average, $20,000 less per year.
